MIKE LOVE BOOK! Mike Love's new book Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy, is out today. In the book, Love insists that he is not a bad guy, and is more of a team player in the group. WEEKEND BOX OFFICE! To noone's surprise, Sully landed in the top spot at the box office over the weekend. Meanwhile, When the Bough Breaks debuted in second place followed by Don't Breathe in third.

DWTS RETURNS TONIGHT! The 23rd season of Dancing with the Stars begins tonight featuring celebs like Marilu Henner, former Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick and Vanilla Ice. BEATLES MOVIE! The new Ron Howard documentary, The Beatles: Eight Days a Week -- The Touring Years premieres in select theaters this Thursday, September 15. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr talked about the flick in Billboard magazine. The movie opens nationwide on September 16th. Get a preview.

DON FELDER INDUCTED! Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder has been chosen for induction into Nashville's Musicians Hall of Fame in its class of 2016. Felder will be presented with the Iconic Riff Award acknowledging his contributions to the Eagles' hit "Hotel California." The 2016 Musicians Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held October 26 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. 1988: SSgt Barry Sadler of "Ballad Of The Green Berets" fame is shot in the head while riding in a cab in Guatemala. He dies 14 months later.
2001: During his 30th Anniversary celebration at Madison Square Garden, Michael Jackson is reunited onstage with the Jackson 5 for the first time since 1984.

BAT OUT OF HELL - THE MUSICAL? Meat Loaf's classic album Bat Out of Hell is being made into a musical. Jim Steinman will guide the project which will be directed by award-winning theater and opera director Jay Scheib. Previews are set for Feb. 17, 2017, at Manchester Opera House in England. Get the hellish details.

50 YEARS OF BOX TOPS! The Box Tops are set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their breakthrough hit "The Letter" next year with an extensive tour. An album is also in the works that could include previously unreleased tracks recorded with late lead singer, Alex Chilton. Get the details. SIXTH TASTE DISCOVERED! Scientists have apparently discovered a sixth taste, which would explain our craving for carbs. CELEBRITY REHAB!
Chevy Chase has entered rehab for what he calls a "tuneup." The aging actor checked into the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota for an alcohol-related issue. Back in 1986, he checked into the Betty Ford Clinic for a painkiller addiction. Get the prognosis. Meanwhile, Chase has two films in the works: The Christmas Apprentice and Dog Years.

MERCURY'S ASTEROID! Yesterday would have been Freddie Mercury's 70th birthday. To coincide with the milestone, an asteroid has been named after him by the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center.
