1967: Mickey Hart becomes the new drummer for the Grateful Dead.
1976: At his 41st birthday party, a drunk Jerry Lee Lewis attempts to shoot a soda bottle with his .357 Magnum and instead hits his bass player twice in the chest. He makes a full recovery.
1994: The Pointer Sisters are awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

DOUBLE DEAD CELEBS! Agnes Nixon, who created the soap opera One Life to Live and All My Children, passed away Wednesday morning after a battle with Parkinson's disease and a recent stroke. She had just finished writing a memoir, My Life to Live, due in January. Nixon was 93. Get the obit.
AND....Gary Glasberg, an executive producer of NCIS and the creator of the spin-off NCIS: New Orleans, died in his sleep Wednesday. He was 50. Get the obit.

ALEC BALDWIN TO PLAY TRUMP! On Saturday Night Live returns for its 42nd season this weekend, and will feature a skit with Alec Baldwin playing Donald Trump. Click here for a preview. The season premiere will be hosted by Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie, with musical guest The Weeknd.

ROY ORBISON BIOPIC! A new Roy Orbison biopic is currently in the works. The film, The Big O: Roy Orbison, will chronicle his life filled with triumph and tragedy, including the loss of his wife in a motorcycle accident and his two young sons in a house fire Orbison died of a heart attack at age 52 in 1988.
