DON McLEAN REFLECTIONS! As the artist who wrote the 1971 #1 hit "American Pie," Don McLean reflects on what he called "the day the music died." He says, "Buddy Holly was only 22 years old when he died…By that time, he had recorded something like 60 sides and every one of them was a hit song and most were hit records. Even the Beatles cannot compare to the magnitude of this contribution." These days, Don McLean kicks off a string of live dates beginning February 24 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Get the dates.

CELEBRITY SUE-AGE! A financial dispute has broken out among the children of the late Bobby Vee. Apparently Robby Velline and Jennifer Whittet Velline have filed a petition accusing their siblings, Jeff and Tommy Velline, of diverting money from their father's estate to fund Rockhouse Productions, a recording studio established by Vee and his late wife in the 1980s and now run by their two sons.
