WEEKEND BOX OFFICE! It was a big flop for Ben Hur which debuted at a pitiful fifth place at the box office over the weekend. Of course, the film had a lot to live up to since the 1959 original won 11 Oscars. Meanwhile, other subpar openings included War Dogs at #3 and Kubo and the Two Strings at #4. Click here for the rest of the rankings.

DEAD CELEB! Lou Pearlman, the music mogul who launched the careers of the Backstreet Boys, 'NSYNC and LFO, among others, died Friday in prison where he was serving a 25-year sentence. He was 62. No cause of death was revealed. Pearlman was convicted of fraud in 2008 in connection with a $300 million Ponzi scheme. Get the obit.
