LIBRARY OF CONGRESS ADDS SONGS! More have been chosen for preservation by the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress. The Eagles' Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) made the list, as did Don McLean's 1971 "American Pie." Wilson Pickett's 1965 classic "In the Midnight Hour" and Sister Sledge's "We Are Family" also made the cut. Click here for the rest.

ELTON'S TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT! Elton's Rocket Pictures production company is set to produce an animated version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. However, Elton is not slated to write any of the songs. Time Rice and Lloyd Webber will take care of that. Get the details.

CLASSIC EAST & WEST UPDATE! There's finally confirmation of this summer's bi-coastal festivals. Six artists in all will play each two-night weekend festival. The first night will feature The Eagles, Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers. The second night will feature Fleetwood Mac, Journey and Earth, Wind & Fire. Get the details and dates.

BOB DYLAN'S NOBEL PRIZE! After seeming indifferent to winning the prestigious honor, Bob Dylan will soon head to Stockholm, Sweden, no doubt reluctantly, to meet with the Nobel Prize folks, who last October awarded him the Nobel Prize in Literature. Dylan will perform two concerts in lieu of a Nobel Lecture. Click here for more Dylan details.

DEAD CRAYOLA COLOR!
Friday National Crayon Day, and for the first time in its 100-year history. Crayola will retire a color from its 24-count box of crayons. Crayola will reveal the doomed color on Friday but hasn't yet said what color they will replace it with. The doomed crayon will be buried at Times Square. Get the obit.
