ELTON JOHN UPDATE! Elton John is recovering from a severe bacterial infection which he picked up during a tour of South America. On his return flight home, he became "violently ill." and was admitted to the hospital, where he "underwent immediate treatment to remove the infection." Meanwhile, his concerts for April and May in Las Vegas have been cancelled with refunds available. Get the prognosis.

MADONNA BIOPIC! A Madonna biopic, Blond Ambition, is in the early stages of development. The movie will deal with Madonna as she works on her debut album, "struggling in a business that treats women badly, while also dealing with a burgeoning love life and the first hints of fame." BANANARAMA REUNITES! After nearly 30 years, the members Bananarama have buried the hatchet on their petty squabbling and will launch a U.K. tour in November. EARNHARDT JR. RETIRING! NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. is parking his No. 88 Chevy. He announced this morning that he's retiring from the NASCAR Cup series at the end of the current season. Jr. has won more than 600 races in 18 seasons, including two Daytona 500 wins. Get the details.
