DOUBLE DEAD CELEBS! John Geils Jr., the namesake of The J. Geils Band, was found dead yesterday at his home in Massachusetts. He was 71. Geils formed the group in 1967 and the group scored its first top 20 hit in 1974 with "Must of Got Lost." Their 1981 album Freeze Frame reached #1 and "Centerfold" was their only #1 hit. WATTS AWARD! Charlie Watts, a jazz aficionado, will receive a special honor recognizing his lifetime contribution to the genre and to blues music at the 2017 Jazz FM Awards on April 25 in London. The ceremony will take place just before the release of his solo album Charlie Watts Meets the Danish Radio Big Band. Get the details.
