FRIDAVE!

Today is Fatigue Syndrome Day, Limerick Day and Military Spouses Day.

THIS DAY IN ROCK!
1951 The number one record on America's R&B chart was "Rocket 88" by Jackie Brenston & His Delta Cats, considered by many Rock historians as the first true Rock & Roll record.
1960 Frank Sinatra's Welcome Home Party For Elvis is broadcast on ABC-TV. The show marked Elvis' last TV appearance for eight years.
1965 The Rolling Stones record "Satisfaction" at Chess Studios in Chicago.
1968 Brian Jones makes his final live appearance with The Rolling Stones at a concert at the Empire Pool, Wembley.
1971 Mick Jagger marries Bianca Perez Morena de Macias.
1979 Jefferson Starship with Mickey Thomas replacing Grace Slick debuted at a free concert in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
1983 Meat Loaf filed for bankruptcy.
2001 Perry Como passed away a week shy of his 89th birthday.
2008 Paul McCartney was granted a divorce from his second wife, Heather Mills.

NEW MOVIES IN THEATERS! New stuff hitting the big screen this weekend include King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (PG-13), Snatched (R) and Absolutely Anything (R). Click here for the rest of the new flicks opening today.

KELLY CLARKSON RUMOR QUASHED! Well, so much for that rumor that Kelly Clarkson would be one of the judges on the re-launched American Idol. Apparently she will be joining The Voice instead. Clarkson, who has previously been an adviser on The Voice, is slated to be a coach on the show this fall. Get the details.

DESERT TRIP DONE! Forget about a possible Led Zeppelin reunion at a 2017 Desert Trip festival, because there isn't going to be a Desert Trip festival this year!
The giant classic rock festival, dubbed "Oldchella," will not be returning in 2017. However, organizers say a future Desert Trip festival is not out of the question. Get the disappointing details.

KILLER AVOCADOS! Avocados are trying to kill people in the U.K. and doctors are calling for a safety warning on the dangerous fruit. When untrained amateur avocado slicers use knives to try to dig around the pit, more often than not, the knife slips and stabs the user's hand, causing nerve or tendon damage in what's becoming known as "avocado hand." Maybe a spoon would be better. Get the dangerous details.
