1968 The Beach Boys begin a 17 date tour of the US with a show in New York.
1976 Paul McCartney launches his Wings over America tour in Fort Worth, Texas.
1978 FM, a film about the struggles of a radio station, debuts in LA. More people would buy the soundtrack than bothered to see the film.

CELEBRITY SUE-AGE! The Eagle have launched a trademark-infringement lawsuit against a hotel in Todos Santos, Mexico which calls itself Hotel California. The suit alleges that the owners have falsely led people into thinking the hotel is associated with the Eagles and was the inspiration for the song. Get the dirty details.

BEATLES/STAR WARS MASHUP! If you're a fan of The Beatles and Star Wars, now you can enjoy both in a new concept album. Titled Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans, the record celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Fab Four's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and the 40th anniversary of the first Star Wars flick, Episode IV: A New Hope. How? By changing the lyrics of the songs from Sgt. WINDSHIELD STOMP OUT! An Alabama woman was arrested after after she used her feet to smash out the windshield and sunroof a a car in a furniture store parking lot. 1000 PACK OF BEER!
A Finnish brewery has just created the 1,000 pack of beer. The refrigerator-sized case of cans is currently being sold in at least one super market in Finland. As for the price? It breaks down to just over $2 a can. Not bad if you can get it home. Get the details.
