1963: "Introducing The Beatles" was pressed by Vee-Jay Records, who unknowingly did not have the rights to the record. After its release in in January, 1964, Capitol Records sued VJ.
1967: The Doors perform on American Bandstand.
1969: Aretha Franklin is arrested for disorderly conduct after creating a disturbance in a Detroit parking lot.
1987: A jury in New York ruled that Morris Albert's 1975 "Feelings" was plagiarized from "Pour Toi", a song written in 1956 by French composer Lou Lou Geste.
1994: At Giants Stadium, Billy Joel and Elton John performed the first of five concerts together.
1996: Donovan was forced to postpone a comeback tour of the US when American authorities delayed granting him a waiver to enter the country because of a 30-year-old marijuana conviction in Britain. The tour was designed to promote Donovan's first album of new material in a dozen years.
