1966: Cream makes its stage debut in Manchester, England.
1966: The teen magazine Datebook reprints a John Lennon quote saying that The Beatles were more popular than Jesus.
1968: Gram Parsons leaves the Byrds.
1970: The Rolling Stones' contract with Decca expires and the group splits with manager Allen Klein.
1980: David Bowie makes his stage debut in The Elephant Man.

 Donovan has added more dates to his upcoming tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of "Sunshine Superman." The trek kicks off August 30 in East Hampton, New York, and is plotted out through an October 21 show in Toronto. Get the itinerary.
