MONDAVE...I MEAN TUESDAVE!

Hope you had a great Riverfest, especially last night for the fireworks.

Today is Work-A-Holic Day. Welcome to the club.

THIS DAY IN ROCK!
1957: Philadelphia's popular afternoon dance show, Bandstand, goes national, as American Bandstand.
1957:Specialty Records hires a new A&R man named Sonny Bono.
1972: Clive Davis signs Aerosmith for $125,000.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE! Finding Dory stayed put at the top of the box office over the holiday weekend. The Legend of Tarzan opened in second place followed by The Purge: Election Year at #3. Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic The BFG was a flop in fourth place. Click here for the rest of the rankings.

FAKE FOURTH FIREWORKS! Apparently A Capitol Fourth wasn't big enough as a live show because PBS has admitted that it used archival firworks footage for some parts of the show. Bad weather, including overcast skies and haze was given as the reason for the deception. Click here for the backlash.

DEAD CELEB! Michael Cimino, who won the best-director Oscar for the 1978 film The Deer Hunter has died. Police found him dead Saturday at his L.A. home after friends were unable to reach him by phone. A cause of death has not yet been determined. Cimino was 77. See his credits on the IMDb.

COMMERCIAL FAILURES! Remember New Coke? It's time once again to revisit some of the worst product failures in history. Click here to see how many you remember.
